The Bedroom Saga

Friends I am going to start a new series "The Bedroom Saga". This is simply the moments between husband and wife.....please post your valuable comments

Taannng, Taannng – it is just 2 o’clock in the mid-night. The watchman clang hourly-bell of the chemical factory. It is his duty. Rahul doesn’t know why but he is used to with this sound for the last two decades or so. May be the watchman verifies that he is on-duty. May be the owner of the factory is clever enough to make sure for the value of money he pays to his employees. But for Rahul it is just an hourly alarm.

Priya was very happy today. Rahul has returned home after nearly twenty days from his official tour. He works for a Multinational Company. He is in sales and marketing. His tour schedule has gone up badly for the last one year. He remains on tour most of the time. Priya, an excellent home-maker, performs her responsibility of a good mother efficiently. This modern age nuclear family has everything of a household need. Rimpa, their eight years old only daughter studies in a Convent. She is a student of third standard. She is cute and intelligent. Rahul understands that Rimpa misses him the most. He knows that a child needs both of its parents to grow up.

It is Sunday and Rimpa is at home. Rahul is busy playing with her. Priya as usual is in the kitchen. She knows, Rahul, a fond of her cooking. She is preparing most of the foodstuff of his choice. She knows how to make Rahul happy. They are known to each other from their early college days. She had gone to date with him many occasions before marriage. She is from a Bengali commune. She likes to make different delicious food. She loves to serve assorted items in the menu.

Rahul takes Priya and Rimpa for a drive in the evening. Rimpa wanted to go to the newly constructed amusement park in the countryside. Though Priya, a deadly fan of SALMAN KHAN. She wanted to go for the movie- “God Tussi Great Ho”. But again a good home-maker, a good mother sacrifices for her child. They went for shopping and then to a restaurant for their dinner.

Television has made modern life a little difficult. Early To Bed – concept has vanished like anything. Children of the days are more and more loaded with end number of study materials. Rimpa completes her home-work and goes to bed at about 12:30 in the night. She still sleeps in between them. They have a different room for her but she loves to sleep with her mother.

After hearing the bell-ring, Rahul puts his right hand on the hip position of Priya. Priya a sub-conscious pulls his hand and throws away. Rahul tries again. Priya now shouts “What are you trying to do?” Rahul keeps mum.

This is third month running that they did not had contact. He has tried many times for his physical need, but Priya did not allow him. Recently she has started keeping fast on every Monday as she is a devotee of Lord Shiva. She thinks that it is a sin and tries to keep herself saintly. Rahul, who comes home merely for a week in a month wanted to make her happy. Sometimes he is barred by the womanly natural obstacles. But today he knows that Priya is free from such complicacy. He tries again. This time he inserts his fingers through the long and silky hair of Priya’s. She throws his hand again and slaps him on cheek. Rahul, a defeated stands up. He goes to the other room. He couldn’t sleep all the night.  Bell sounds for five times.

Priya comes to this room, she calls “Don’t you wake up?” “It is 9 o’clock. Here is your tea ready. Don’t you have your office today?” Rahul takes the cup sitting on the bed. He sips keeping silent. He has no mood of talking to Priya. He is frustrated. He is shocked with the happening of the night. Priya a normal wife is busy to her routine.

Rahul has lot of commitments in his job. He has tremendous pressure in his career. He is in his early forty and needs break.  He needs moral support from someone he trusted. He feels depressed and he needs to be mentally satisfied. Love can always heal depression. He needs love. He needs the healing touch of Priya which can transform into his source of energy. But Priya, she never tries to understand that a husband-wife relationship is better established when they comply each other. She can be a good mother, a good house maker and a good friend but to be a good wife and a good partner she must learn to satisfy her husband on the bed. Rahul is not that demanding but he can demand at least while at home.

It is already seven days passed that Rahul is at home. He has to leave for his next destination for official purpose. He hasn’t talked much with Priya during his stay. He kept himself busy in work. He kept himself busy in helping Rimpa to complete her homework while at home. He used to leave the bed immediately after Rimpa gone to sleep every night. He did not try again to touch Priya. She had also never walked to Rahul in the other room. Rahul passed every night of the week working on his laptop. He could not sleep like Priya did.

Today, Rahul is preparing for his tour. Priya keeps herself busy making his food for the train. Rahul starts talking “I can not forget this week ever”. “You haven’t done any good with me”. Now Priya replies, “There is no fault of mine; you kept your-self busy with the computer every night. You did not come to me because you love to chat on computer”.  Rahul again goes silent; he could not understand what to do. He can not understand the mysterious nature of a woman.  “Ok, it is again my fault, I have done the wrong, but anyways, I was doing my office job on the computer. I had no options left”. He leaves home with chock-a-block of mind, he goes to find his love somewhere ………………
